An initial hepatitis C infection can look like the flu

People infected with acute hepatitis C may present with flu-like symptoms including nausea, fever and vomiting. These symptoms usually go away by themselves, but the infection can still progress into a long-term hepatitis C infection that can lead to liver failure and other life-threatening problems.
